I am thinking about getting a master of fine arts (MFA) in either graphic design or something in visual communications or maybe an MBA in economics. If not, these degrees what degrees are valid in the Philippines that would also be valid in the US? I heard that not all degrees from foreign schools will be considered valid in the US.

Degrees are accepted by international agreements. This is at university level. If you are looking for specific jobs, like working for the government of that you need to be licensed (to contract with the government), then you need to check your possibilities very closely.

Definitely, your master’s degree will still be valid in the United States as long as the school you attended in the Philippines is accredited and you possess all the documents to prove that you graduate. Only when you possess a technical/engineering or medical degree is when you may be required to take another board exam in the U.S. before you can practice the profession.
